Per birth record, she was born in "The Barracks" in Paisley, where her parents lived at the time.

She came to Canada aboard the Hesperian in 1912, with her older sister, Marion, and two younger borthers James and George, where she reunited with her father, Walter, who had left Scotland two years earlier to find work in Canada.¹

In 1920 she was a nurse, living in Conewango, Warren County, Pennsylvania, probably at what is now (2023) the Warren State Hospital.

She was a nurse in training when she died in Carleton, Ontario, 19 July 1926, of tuberculosis.

Her death certificate gives birth date 26 July 1904, which exactly matches her birth record in Paisley, Scotland. The death certificate lists her father as Walter Fawcett, born England, and her mother as Emily Kingston, also born in England. Emily must have been Walter's second wife, the step mother of Ada, not her biological mother. Ada's death certificate gives her father's address as 169 Broad St, Ottawa. She was buried in Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa, 21 July 1926.

James and Beatrice V. Fawcett share a gravestone with two of their children - Kenneth E. Fawcett who was born in 1938 and died young, and James W. G. Fawcett, born 1931, died 1982. The birth date for the elder James, inscribed on his gravestone, is 1904 with a '7' struck over the '4'.³

James and Beatrice had a third son, Richard Allen Fawcett, a Major in the Royal Canadian Regiment, who died on 21 Sep 1995, at London, Ontario, in his 60th year.⁴
